About Barnhurst Lane Lions FC
Barnhurst Lane Lions FC was born in the summer of 2021, following a rebrand from Sporting Schools FC. Barnhurst was set up by Scott Hadley, UEFA B Licensed coach, Youth Module Award Licensed Coach. He wanted to provide a place, where all players were welcome, no matter about their ability, they knew they had a place here at Barnhurst Lane Lions.
Barnhurst has gone on from strength to strength ever since. In the summer of 2021, the club had only 30 players signed to represent them. Now as we enter the summer of 2023 two years into our incredible journey, we have over 90 players signed to the club. For the 2023-24 season we anticipate that there will be around 130 players wearing the Barnhurst badge and colours proudly.
In the summer of 2022, Barnhurst Lane Lions secured a 5 year kit deal with kit manufacturer Macron, specifically using the East Midlands branch for all our kits, Teamwear and leisure range.
Again in the summer of 2022, Barnhurst Lane Lions FC agreed a short term deal with Tettenhall College to be based at the college for matches on a Sunday. Tettenhall College is a well renowned College world wide, with sporting facilities of the highest quality within the city. Showcasing 3 football pitches, 4 changing rooms, a small pavilion, it was an easy decision to be based at the college. In the summer of 2023 the partnership became permanent and long term offering security for Barnhurst Lane Lions and a place to call home for the foreseeable future.
2023/24 season promises to be the best yet for Barnhurst another 4 teams being creating and wearing the badge with pride, reaching an expected 12 teams, something only visioned to happen in another 2 years time.
